REALTOR Unity and the Fight Against Amendments 4 & 5

An important informational message from Missouri REALTORS® President Brian Jared: 

Today, we are less than 40 days away from the August 4th election, and we are accelerating our campaigns against Amendments 4 and 5.  

But first, I want to address something head-on.  

I have heard from many of you about the disparaging remarks and deceptive tactics used by the backers of Amendments 4 and 5 against REALTORS® and the association’s efforts to stop these misguided ballot initiatives.  

Despite their attempts to chip away at our massive REALTOR® solidarity through misleading mailers, text messages, and sound bites, what I have heard from so many of you is that these have further fueled your support for our opposition campaign, encouraging all Missourians to “Vote No on 4 and 5.”  

You know that Amendments 4 and 5, if passed, will harm housing affordability, increase the cost of living, and remove important taxpayer protections, including those enacted by Missouri REALTORS® to ban transfer taxes and sales tax on services, including real estate transactions. 

So, thank you for reaching out and for offering your support. With your help and the collective efforts of our 25,000 members statewide, we are resolved to defeat these bad proposals and protect Missourians. 

Now, let’s channel our energy and solidarity into action from now until August 4th.  

Here’s how you can get help:  

• Register to Vote or Check Your Voter Registration by July 8th
• RSVP to attend the REALTOR® Rally on July 9th  
• Request a Campaign Speaker at a meeting or event by emailing Amy Jordan Wooden (Ajwooden@gmail.com), who is assisting with communications and media relations. If you are involved with a community group that is looking for factual information or someone to answer questions about these campaigns, let Amy know!

Many of you have been asking for social media graphics, and we will have those ready to share with you next week. Also, for those of you who want yard signs, we will have those at our July 9 rally and will be distributing them statewide following the rally.
