MARIS MLS
Mid America Regional Information Systems (MARIS) administers the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for the St. Louis, St. Charles County, Mark Twain, Southern Gateway Associations and the Franklin County, East Central, South Central, Bootheel Regional, Lebanon, Mineral Area, Southwestern Illinois, Three Rivers, Southeast Missouri and Pulaski County Boards of REALTORS®. The MLS website contains information to help agents achieve the goal of listing and selling real estate.
The MLS is more than just listings; it is a tool underutilized by most REALTORS®. The MLS can be used to store contacts/prospects, manage clients, create CMA presentations for clients, look at trends, save searches, do reverse prospecting and create customized report formats, just to name a few of the tools within the MLS.
MARIS offers a variety of other products along with the MLS. These products include Realist, a tax records database integrated into the MLS. There are also products to help members market listings, get information about down payment resources for their buyers, set up showing appointments right in the MLS, syndicate listings, and see accurate up-to-date loan information on properties. Check out the Products page on www.marisnet.com. for more information!
MARIS offer FREE training classes. Classes are held regularly at the St. Charles REALTORS® office. Registration is required and you may sign up for classes on the MARIS website www.marisnet.com.
An additional feature you will see when you sign on to the MLS Homepage is the NEWS. MARIS and the Association use this format to communicate with members about important updates, events, classes and seminars being offered through MARIS or your Association.
MARIS does its own billing and provides technical support for its members. The Association and MARIS work together to provide members with the best possible customer service!
Changes and Updates
We are in a constant state of change within the real estate industry, particularly locally. Every week, we witness changes in our forms, MLS and business practices. It is imperative that you stay informed about the evolving landscape of our MLS.
We are all grappling with these changes and adapting to our local areas accordingly. It’s not an easy task, but you are not alone in this journey of understanding the changes, their reasons, and how to perform your duties effectively and avoid trouble.
Please set aside distractions and thoroughly read the MLS status descriptions to gain a comprehensive understanding. Additionally, take the time to review the updates from MARIS, as new statuses are emerging that provide sellers with more options and agents with greater opportunities to market to each other. Familiarize yourself with these details firsthand. If you encounter any discrepancies in the field, please report them promptly.
We are all learning as we go, but it’s crucial that we maintain honesty and integrity. If you require guidance or advice, please don’t hesitate to reach out to MARIS or the Association. Together, we can steer our organization towards success and progress!
