REALTOR® Protect MOjority Rule & MO Taxpayers Amendment Campaigns

Gwen Walters

Missouri REALTORS® is actively opposing two ballot measures on the August 4, 2026, election. Both threaten housing affordability and taxpayer protections Missourians have built over decades.

Our campaigns are called “Protect MOjority Rule” and "Protect MOTaxpayers". Both campaigns are encouraging "NO" votes on these two ballot measures.

Amendment 4 | Protect MOjority Rule

Defend the citizen initiative process - vote NO on Amendment 4 · August 4

Amendment 4 would make it significantly harder for Missouri citizens to pass laws directly at the ballot box — threatening the very process REALTORS® have used to enact constitutional taxpayer protections, including the ban on real estate transfer taxes.

Visit the Protect MOjority Rule Website for more info.

Amendment 5 | Protect MO Taxpayers

Stop the "Everything Tax" — vote NO on Amendment 5 · August 4

Amendment 5 promises an income tax cut but would allow politicians to triple Missouri's sales tax — to 16% or higher — on everything Missourians buy, including services never taxed before. It also overrides constitutional protections voters already approved, including the 2010 ban on real estate transfer taxes.

Visit the Protect MO Taxpayers Website for more info.

We encourage Members to learn about these important Amendments and to vote No on August 4.  Both Amendments will greatly affect our industry, Missourians and homeownership.

Signs

If you have or know of a commercial property/business that would allow for a sign, please come to the Association office.  We also have smaller yard signs for Members.
