Gwen Walters

Welcome to MARIS Software Updates, May 22, 2024!

Here are the updates being delivered to Matrix.

  • Update 24.6.1 Renaming "Withheld" Status to "Office Exclusive" (June 18)
  • Update 24.6.2 Renaming "Incoming" Status to "Incomplete" (June 18)
  • Update 24.8.1 Removal of Commission Fields (August 1)
  • Update 24.8.2 Buyer Representation Paperwork Requirement (August 1)

Update 24.6.1 - Renaming "Withheld" Status to "Office Exclusive"

On June 18th, "Withheld" status will be renamed to "Office Exclusive" to clarify the purpose and use of this status.

How will it change your experience? This update will not cause any change to your processes within Matrix. It will address continued confusion between the "Withheld" and "Withdrawn" status and clarify the intent and use of the status. Please note that a new "Office Exclusive" Certification Form will become available on that date replacing the current "Withheld" Certification Form.

Update 24.6.2 - Renaming "Incoming" Status to "Incomplete"

On June 18th, "Incoming" status will be renamed to "Incomplete"  to clarify the purpose and use of this status.

How will it change your experience? This update will not cause any change to your processes within Matrix. It will help correct continued confusion with keeping listings in this status while marketing them. "Incomplete" is a draft of a listing and NOT to be viewed as an on-market option.

Update 24.8.1 - Removal of Commission Fields

On August 1, 2024, MARIS will remove all commission fields from Matrix.

How will it change your experience? Due to the NAR settlement, all commission fields in the MLS, including historical data, will no longer be available as of 08/01/24. The settlement terms provide the MLS until September 16 to enact these changes, MARIS is making these updates before the deadline to ensure any issues will be able to be corrected between August and that deadline.

Update 24.8.2 - Buyer Representation Paperwork Requirement

On August 1, 2024, MARIS will require buyer representation paperwork be signed prior to showing properties.

How will it change your experience? Due to the terms of the NAR settlement, the MLS will require signed buyer representative paperwork be executed prior to showing properties. This paperwork MUST be signed by both the Buyer's Agent and the Buyer PRIOR to the showing. To ensure compliance, MARIS will require proof of a signed form if/when a complaint is received.
