PENDING SALES RISE FOR THE FIFTH MONTH IN A ROW IN ST. CHARLES COUNTY
For the fifth month in a row, pending sales in May saw an increase over the previous month, according to the St. Charles County Association of Realtors. Pending sales, homes placed under contract, increased 11 percent in May over April of this year. This followed consecutive increases of 16 percent in April and 26 percent in March!
“The numbers show that St. Charles County families are realizing that it is a great time to buy a home,” stated 2009 Association President Karen Vennard. The upswing in market activity has been triggered by historic low interest rates, stable prices and the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit, according to Association leadership. “These factors have combined to make this a unique, perhaps once-in-a-lifetime, opportunity to buy a home,” concluded Vennard
